Urban Solar & Sustainability Advisors
THE SOLAR DIFFERENCE
Urban Solar and Sustainability Advisors (“USS”) work with ownership groups to realize the benefits of solar systems, cost savings, value creation, and environmental benefits without incurring increased liability and upfront/ongoing costs.
USS is an expert in providing timely execution across the entire capitalization stack and keeps an “open mind” regarding asset class, situation, and deal size.
USS works directly with industry leading Go Solar Power (“GSP”), a subsidiary of NYSE (BIP) Brookfield Infrastructure Partners, to offer this unique program.
A Solar System generates a clean KWH at a lower rate than the Utility company, creating instant savings and increased property values. Historically owners that wanted to capture these cost savings had to purchase or finance solar arrays directly. The GSP & USS program removes this barrier by entering into a contractual agreement to effectively lease roof spaces from property owners and sell back the generated power to owners at a discount.

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS
DOCUMENTATION
GSP & USS IDENTIFY THE BEST PERFORMING ROOF PLANES AND ANNUAL KWH TO OFFSET. A PPA CONTRACT IS CRAFTED TO PROVIDE SOLAR ELECTRICITY AT PRE-DETERMINED BELOW MARKET RATE PRICE
INSTALLATION
GSP PROVIDES THE TRUNKEY SOLAR AND STORAGE INSTALLATION SERVICE FROM SITE SURVEY THRU INTERCONNECTION WITH THE UTILITY. 100% SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE ARE INCLUDED.
SAVINGS
AS THE SOLAR SYSTEM GENERATES POWER OVER MONTHS AND YEARS, THE CLIENT CONTINUALLY SAVES MONEY AS ELECTRIC RISES OVER TIME.
THE MALL AT STONECREST
CASE STUDY
The Mall at Stonecrest (the “Mall”) is a 1.2MM sq. ft. super regional enclosed shopping center located in Stonecrest, Georgia, roughly 20 minutes east of downtown Atlanta. USS & GSP worked together with ownership to create a 1.834 MW solar system that is anticipated to produce 2.687MM kWh per year.
The PPA provides the Mall with solar power for $0.02/kWh less than GA Power’s current rate. This represents a 19% savings in year one. Over time these savings are projected to increase with 3.9% annual escalation in market rate electricity expense vs the fixed PPA annual increase of 2.9%.
Ownership will pay $0 upfront with all ongoing expenses covered within the PPA. In the event roof repairs are needed due to roof aging, the system is able to be relocated temporarily. Most importantly, the mounting method does not penetrate the roof structure.
